hey guys,
I took out a radio the guy befor me put in the car, he had unhooked or bypassed the amp stuff in the trunk. I put in another radio and hooked the stuff in the trunk back up, i have power but no sound. I replaced the booster speaker thing in the trunk but not the amp in the tray. Short on cash so i wanted some advise on what it might be before i started buying stuff. also i unhooked the booster thing in trunk, still no sound. Next i unplugged on of the wires fraom radio and took a spare speaker and put stuck wires in there and could hear it, really low tho. Any ideas on whether it is the amp in the tray or what?
thank you

that happened to me, i put a somewhat of an older pioneer in mine, and i had everything hooked up which i thought to be right, but there was this remote wire (if i remember corectly) that was blue in color and i had to hook that up as well, i hadnt first off because i didnt have a remote, so if there is a wire like that try hooking it up to certain places, this might help it might not...good luck

if you upgraded to a newer head-unit....you need to put that bypass plug back onto the amp. You cant just wire in a new head unit without the amp bypass, thats your problem. if you need a new one, go to best buy, it's like $13(just a simply wiring harness)

Had a similar problem with a radio I purchased at a local junk yard. I found a lot i=of info at the link below.

Turned out to be a missing bypass jumper on the radio. The car it came from had a CD player ab i didn't.
