Brunch and a boat ride

Hey guys,
Just wanna say thanks for all the support out there with this injury and all and to send out an invite for all of you and your families to come to my home...(There will be plenty of parking space)... for a boat ride on the Chain of Lakes in Lake county and Brunch at the Lakeside Inn In Mt. Dora....the date as of yet undecided but obviously when the weather calms and warms:D...Also not to conflict with any shows or pre-set meets...I'm sure we can work it out...anywhoo!! Love ta have ya and from Carla and myself once again many thanks for your support ;) ...

My biggest absence from the state will occur from May 26th to June 10th, as the wifus and I will be going up to Carlisle and then at a resort in the Gatlinburg mountains on the way back.

The only other time I can't is Sat April 10th and Sat April 24th, and the Saturday of the Daytona meet of course. Sundays are probably better bets for Teri and I.

I also realize, that when everyone starts to notate their schedules, the available days start to really dwindle, so I will be the first to say; do it when it's best for you Rick, and if it happens to fall on a day I'm not here, that's life, I'll just do the next one. It's really, really hard to accomodate everyone, everytime.

That said, If I can go, I'll be there!

This summer, Teri & I plan a pool party BBQ at our home here in Ormond, so put that on the back burner in your mind too. We'll wait till the pool is in the mid 80's though, so it'll be in July/ August.

Worst comes to worst, I'll just call in again and face the music later.;) If possible I'd love to do a cruise in with anyone else as I'm not to familiar with lake county, plus it's a blast to see the look on peoples faces when a convoy of SCs roll by!

The car runs fine, the only thing is Daytona is almost 5 hours for me and with these 373:1 gears I can only go 70 or so. Plus with these drag radials I can't go through any rain at all. Other than that she's great. I've been saving for the MPll blower and plenum that I should have in 3 weeks.

Well, I've been to Leesburg once, but I flew in to a small airport, so I guess I need driving directions...
I think we should find out who's comming from where and group up a bit to have small convoys. I know Bryan and a few others are on the Oviedo area which isin't too far from where I am, and TJ lives like a block away. so general Orlando directons will help out quite a few of us in this area.

ok, here goes I live on Mullholland Drive but my Address is 04128 Harry Drive, Fruitland Park, Fl. 34731..this is because Harry Drive runs straight down into my driveway kind of T-Boneing Mullholland...Your GPS may not accept the "0" in the street address there Rich but what the hey give it a shot it cant hurt and ya never know. In essence if your comming from orlando get onto 441 north and just stay on it till you get to Leesburg. most f the way thru Leesburg you will merge with Hwy. 27 from there you only go about half a mile til you get to picciolla just before you get there you will see "Key Scales Ford " on your left but make sure after you make the merge with 27 you stay in the far right lane "DONT GET OUT OF IT!!!!!!" you will pass a small shopping plaza then a Sonic burger place then an ABC Discount liquor. thats where you will come to a light..thats Picciolla Dr. Branch off on (Pixie) as we call it and follow it for about 2 miles you will pass a church on the left then a Texaco station just past the Texaco you will go over a small bridge over a canal. THE NEXT ROAD ON THE LEFT IS MULLHOLLAND DRIVE! YOU CAN MISS IT BE CAREFULL AND MIND THE SPEED BUMPS WHEN YOUR ON IT!!!! I will be the 4th house on the left..its a brick house with a American flag cover for the mailbox.

Hope your friends arrived on time and well. The deal on the whole boat ride thing is..and maybe some others out there don't know this either..Were going to all meet at my house I live on lake Griffin in Fruitland Park. Lake Griffin is on What is affectionatley known as "THE CHAIN OF LAKES" here in Lake County. We are all then going to climb aboard my pontoon skiffer and ride the Chain from Griffin up Haines Creek Through the locks Into Lake Eustis over to The Scenery Filled Dora Canal Down the Dora Canal Into Lake Dora across lake Dora to the Lakeside Inn in Mt. Dora for brunch or lunch depending on what time we decide to be there. After Brunch we are then going to head back up the Dora Canal Into lake Eustis and from there it's anyones choice we can go across the Dead River to Lake Harris or we can head back down Haines Creek back though the locks into Griffin and go see if we can spot some gators sunning themselves or we can go back to my house and I can show off my big screen TV :D ..But thats about the long and short of it hope that helps.

Sure no problem..I'm supposing you'll be using I-75 so lets start there go north to the Wildwood exit..I can't remember the number but I'll get it tonight and let ya know tomorrow...take the exit go east (Right) on Hwy 44 take 44 all the way to Leesburg you will come to the 44 bypass around main street dont take it stay on 44 till it runs right into Hwy 27..Go North (Left)..stay on 27 till you see the 441 merge, it will merge from your right, keep going but try to get over in the far right lane you will be turning soon. continue North and soon you will see Key Scales Ford on the left then a Sonic Burger on the right just past Sonic is an ABC liquor place and a stop light. You will be making a right at the light the road actually kind of just branches off it's called Picciola. Follow Picciola for about 1 mile and you will pass a church on your left next there will be a Texaco convienience store on your left just past that (and this road is curvey) you will go over a small bridge over a canal..be prepared here my road is just past the canal on the left...it's called Mullholland and the road sign is white not the usual green..be looking for it. it sneaks up on you..I am 4th on the left I will have a sign in the yard... it's 04128..good luck Bryan looking forward to seeing you again my wife missed seeing you and your really cool hood at Jay Blanchard..

One last word of warning to everyone especially for those of you who have lowered your cars. There is a Speed Bump on Mullholland the road in front of my house. It's a small one but it's there just the same. "BE CAREFULL COMING DOWN MULLHOLAND" Look for the signs to park.

Rick, I hate to ask this of you, but could you give me directions coming from I-4 (would that be best?) and the Ormond/Daytona area?
I read the directions you listed prior and none of it sounds familiar. If I took the Lexus the GPS would talk me me to your door with only your address, but If we take the SC I will have to do it the old fashioned way (i.e. get lost!).

Take I-4 west to Hwy 46 (Sanford Exit) go west on hwy 46 away from Sanford. This will be just going right off your exit ramp. Follow 46 all the way though Sorrento. Just stay on it till you come to the 441 overpass about 3 mile past Sorrento. Go north on 441. (right) Follow 441 through Mt. Dora, then Eustis, then Tavares, past the Lake Square Mall, all the way into Leesburg. stay on 441 till it merges into hwy 27. It will do so from the right. STAY IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE. after a couple of stoplights you will see Key Scales Ford on your left. Just past that on your right you will see an ABC Lounge. then a stop light. Go right at the light this is Picciola Rd. follow Picciola for a couple of miles, Carefull it gets curvey, past a big church on the left then you will see a Texaco food store on the left,next you will cross over a small bridge. slow down my road is the next left. Turn left on Mulholland It's easy to miss so be careful. I'm the 4th house on the left. WATCH OUT FOR THE SPEED BUMP!. Peter, Rick said you could crash at his house... Your best way up is probably going to be the turnpike to 75 to Wildwood, Rick's place should probably be pretty much due east of there on 44a..

Definitely won’t make it this Sunday, SC won’t be complete until early next week. Think I found my minor cooling leak and the pressure I was getting in the cooling system. Intake was not torque down :eek: . Engine looks great, can still see the cross honing marks in the cylinders from the last rebuild. Should run great with all the new goodies on it. Have fun!! Hey Rick, I just talked to Jake, he's not been able to get on the site for a week or so, he said he'll be pulling into his inlaws tomorrow night and then as long as it's not raining he'll drive the Sc up to your house on Sunday... I've got his cell to keep him updated on the meet and meeting place..

Dan and I were talking in email, I think we should draw the line at this point with meeting at 46 and I-4 at 9:15am then leave there by 9:30am to make it to Rick's by 10:25 or so... Can everyone meet us at that location and the specified time on this Sunday morning??

Haven't seen or heard anymore from Greg Roll, or Brad, I talked to Jake today, I'll call Greg tomorrow... Has anyone heard from Victor?? He'd said something up in this post about maybe coming but I haven't seen anything on him the last couple of weeks anywhere on the board...

Rick, I talked to Thomas tonight and they don't have a baby sitter so they are going to have to bring the grandbaby... Is that still going to be cool??

JJ sent me a mail this afternoon, he will not be able to make it, he's busy making money!!

We're gonna miss ya JJ, he suggested a dinner get together in June... I'm up for that... Meeting once a month is just making my car look better, keeps me motivated!!

im still planning on coming i hopefully fixed my exhaust rattle for the last time today the only bad thing i had a belt start to come apart on friday and monday (it made a noise for about a sec on friday and i didnt see anything wrong when i got to work tore a couple of things up on monday though :( )on my way to work so i had to put the stockers on the rear cause the new tires wont be here till monday :mad:

I'm back from the dark side of the moon!
Geesh..... what a wierd few days.... my house is revolting!!!!!
the past few days i've had more go wrong with my house than my SC!
let's see.... first off University Village (the trailer park I live in) hit yet another water main leaving me with no water for a day or so, which in turn drained my hot water heater causing it to burn up the heating element. Then when the water was turned back on they left tons of sand and sediment in there as to clog all my faucets and whatnot! I had to replace the heater element and 2 faucets damaged and that was just the start! Then later that day my ceiling fan broke and the light fixture took a crap and I replaced it as well, and meanwhile I'm not getting any calls for some reason..... Hmm..... the phones don't work either! so now I am waiting for the phone company to fix the damn junction box to my house as I opend it up and found it totally corroded and needing to be rewired. So I finally took the security torx bolt out and did the job myself! but the problem is still intermittent, so that's why I haven't been around or been able to recieve calls!

So I hate to do this but I'm backing out from all these unforseen problems and a lack of cash and time off. I even requested the time off like 2 weeks ago and he still scheduled me! But at least they scheduled me more than 20 hrs a week! I hate beieng broke!
I really hate to back out as I was so stoked to go untill I got my schedule today and found out I have to work and lost all hope. :(

Thats ok Greg been there done that...maybe we can do it again some time we all had a great time on just an awsome day for boating ( Wifeee got a lil well done)...Maybe we can see you in June best of luck hope everything can get fixed ok for ya..
