i would like to remove the seatbelt motors & keep the upper seatbelt release buckle in the locked postion. can this be done? or the removal of the motor will cause the buckle to be moved freely along the track? thanks

here what i did

on my 92 lx thunderbird the passanger side belt would not retact back to the lock position, but in the rear panel under the speaker there is a manual override you can turn to get the belts to come back, after this was done i disconnected the motors, and now they stay back all the time.

Also i believe there is a fuse you can pull to disable the motors.

when you said disconnect do u mean u pulled the motors or just electricly? i pulled the fuse & removed the computor for the seatbelts & they are in the locked postion already. i would like to remove the motors completly. trying to get this car on a diet. thanks
