hey how are u all doing? im out here in Harlingen Tx. about 20 min away from South Padre Island. Just wanted to say whats up to the whole SCCOGC members. I just bought a 89 SC and im trying to bring the beast back from its 6 yr slumber. i paid 350.00 for it. im hoping that she will be ready in about august or september. i doubt it will be out earlier. Just wondering though? how many people are in this Club?? and what kind of meets do u all have? I wouldnt mind gettin involved in the club if allowed you know what i mean?

We just had a meet in Mew Orleans type area. Slidell to be exact. I met those good guys for first time.

thats cool man. umm well "Smokey" my SC is a 89 5 speed, has.... well had burgendy leather seats, now theyre all torn up. im gonna rebuild this car from scratch. im gonna rip out the int. and redo everything in black and red cloth. gonna drop in a 3000 watt system, and just make the SC into a show car...... try to make it into a show car. im in school right now so that means less time on the SC. i dont know what to do about the motor. i might just paint it all black and do sum red triming on it. just for show. u know what i mean? ill probably use it as a daily driver.

hey cptnwoody02 i'm in McAllen not to many sotex SC's out there actually i think we're the only ones, would be nice to see somemore guys down here but i've only seen 1 or 2 SC's this far south, maybe they'll come out of hiding and post (if they exist) would be nice to meet around here since houston is a decent 5-6hr cruise to, good luck gett'n the bird back together pm me if u need any help or info i may be able to help.

yeah i konw what u mean, i saw one in Mcallen i wanted to get it but i dont know what happend to it. Ive seen alot of SCs in Mexico though! they dont know what they have in the hood though. :(

I know there a bunch of SuperCougars running around down there. Or not, LOL!
I saw one red one for sale over on Ware Rd a few months back. Another red one up in Edinburg. There's another red one that's probably dead just on the other side of Sullivan City on 83 West. Saw white one sitting out in front of a shop just North of Donna. It was probably permanently dead too. And last would be a black one down in Brownsville. I've seen him twice in the area of Price Rd and 83. Then of course my ~~~ makes an appearance down there just about every day.

So there appear to be plenty of SuperCougars running around down there but I can't recall any SuperCoupes at the moment.

i hear ya, all of the XR7's and all of the SC's that i have seen down here (which is about 3) have been beat to $H!T "so sad" but that jus helps the overall value of mine HA, theres another SC jus sitt'n at a ghetto tire shop on Old 83 about 2blocks west of 23rd street its red and is probably dead, would like to have more members down here though but alot of people don't appreciate wut they got or have no idea wut it is ......damn shame

yeah thats true :( ive seen alot of dead Birdies and its a big shame. i found 3 dead ones, and one thats gonna die soon. most people dont like them mainly cuz theyre a ~~~~ to fix. i bought mine off of my best friend. he paid 1000.00 junked with Blown HGs. and he put a lil over 4000.00 into the motor, and it never came out right! so... there arent to many people around here that know how to fix them. im gonna get another one, but right now..... i need to bring this one back. i dont know anyone around here that can fix them Affordably! Bogus is gonna charge me 2000.00 to fix it up and running, but no warenty. i waslike ~~~? so yea.... any of u all know some one who can fix these cars and leave them running corectly? i got a friend of mine that has a AOD and i sold him the heads off my 35th.... i need heads for the 89. theyve been shaved 4 times.

i don't trust any of these local shops with my ride especially bogus cuz thats wut they are BOGUS! rip ya off every ef'n time the only shop that i might consider is called BIRD automotive....i think ....but they do alot of exotics last time i was there they had a 94 rx7, older jag and acouple porsches in the shop they did an exceptional job on my last ride replacing transfer case clucth and wheel bearings.... good luck with those heads, shaved 4 times yikes!

I wouldn't bother taking an SC to a dealer. My work takes me to most of the dealer service dept's in So. Tx. and I can't think of a one that shows enough on the ball to diagnose and fix an SC. Some of the tranny guys are all right and know their stuff but the engine/chassis types are another story. I rarely have to go to an independent shop and none of those that I have been to have impressed me yet.

What work mine has needed I've done myself so I can't say about up here either.

I live in Brownsville Tx. and proud owner of three Sc Thunderbird's i have an 89 Sc automatic and a 90 5 speed which im restoring to good shape it will take about a year for both of them to be in good shape but I dont know if i should sell the 5 speed one. Te other 89 has a 302 engine with a 5 speed also. Not many down here and proud to have three off them and making them come back to life.

hey blackcoup89, yeah i have heard of a 5spd 302 sc runn'n around down here i was out in Harlingen 2weeks ago on Saturday night theres a guy there with a tangerine orange cougar that was tell'n me about a 302 SC (must be you) theres acouple of us that cruise around McAllen thursday nights: 92 white sc (me), 95 4.6 silver sport xenon body kit cobra r's (freddy)(also has 89-90 blue sc in the works), 94 4.6 green cougar cobra r's(joe), 95 4.6 gold LX xenon bodykit cobra r's(omar), and theres 1 or 2 others that show up once and a while. We might head out to harlingen sat night.

Hey guys you can add one more SC in the RGV. I live in Rio Grande and have a 90 SC. I haven't driven it much this last two months due to a shot ABS system. But hopefully by April my Sc will fly again. It's always nice to see people from a place where you grew-up around. :D :D

yeah i've seen this web site that has them for about 2 grand, i've been thinkin of gettin that too but like you say the $$$$ stroker kits dont come cheap . I've been wanting to fix up my SC but i'm not much of a mechanic, thats why i'm always readin this posts to see if i can learn some stuff in here. i've seen another white SC in weslaco at "escobar's auto electric" just saw it parked there and i just found out that theres another one here in donna go figure and i thought i was the only one here in donna. laterz

I bought my 94 SC from a guy in houston. Lived somewhere off the beltway by San Jacinto colllege. Bought it for $1800 with blown headgaskets. The exterior paint was a little faded but the interior was excellent. None of the leather was ripped or cracked. I couldnt find any down here in beaumont that were werent too far gone.

Hey Guys how have you all been duing i was recently Blackcoupe89 but somehow i had to rename myself cuz of a virus. well inuff of that i recently got rid of my 89 Sc and my 90 Sc was taken appart for parts to many problems "BUT" I got ahold a 35th anny 3 months ago wich just needs a harmanic balancer for $500 bucks and a week ago i bought a 93 Sc standard with alot of goodies for $1500 wich i will finish paying preety soon. So guys wach out cuz more and more Sc's are cumming out of hidding.

theres lots of goodies going into it...
Right now its parked since I broke the drive shaft in half and ripped off the tail housing with shaft out, I was racing a Gold Mark VIII, that car got owned so bad!!!!!!!!! We were racing and going like 100mph and let him get ahead by a car and when I floored it and boy did I boost I was doing like 125mph when the hell broke loose... So I will be adding a new tranny w/j-mod and new parts, boy will this car fly.....
I think I got the fastes or maybe the 2nd other than 92SiverLX cause he gots a fast 92'sc in the RGV...
