anyone modify stock windage tray for ARP studs

has anyone succesfully modified the stock late model windage tray to fit using ARP main studs??

im planning on cutting and rewelding the mounting tangs farther up thereby dropping the tray down to stock height..


any thoughts

I just enlarged the holes in the tray and didn't use the washers under the nuts.
 
i tried that and the tray actually sits against the crank then..

plus i dont think its such a good idea to have the caps torqued on the tray... i was gonna use other nuts on top to fasten the tray to the top of the ARP nuts


any thoughts
 
There were a couple of high spots I had to massage, but mine's in the car, so I know it works.

The Cobra is a giggle :D Right now it's N/A, but I've got an intercooled Vortech in the garage, so I'll be looking for high 10's soon ;)
