1993 red 130k miles, brand new AOD and 2400 stall, $3000
one catch, you gotta put it back together, right now the tranny is out, the driveshaft and gas tank is out its basically a rolling chassis with a motor...dont know when or if its gonna be done, i may have to have it towed to a shop and spend $500+ to get it put back together, or i may just sell it as is, who knows..
that 6 speed trans am is looking really tempting right now.

I'll give you $500 as is including new AOD and all parts! :D
the driveshaft and gas tank is out
You're doing it the hard way there Peter. All you had to do was loosen the 3 bolts holding the rear differential and slide the driveshaft back enough to clear the tranny. I know it is a lengthy job but doing it that way added hours of work. I wish you had posted here asking what was the easiest way to remove that beast. I would have been more than glad to give you some tips.
If you need any additional help, please ask.

Peter, what are you hung up on? My roommate and I dropped the AOD in my old 5.0 in about a day, screwed around, and then had it re-installed in about another day. The hardest part of it was getting the damn tranny lined up flush to the motor. That is enough to piss anyway off.

well the 2 big problems were getting the tranny off the motor (turned out to be the 2 dowels that hold it to the motor, wouldnt budge, they ended up coming off with the tranny instead of staying on the block, we got those back up there) yet another problem one that eventually led to the destruction of the old aod was the shifter linkage would not come off, and ended up having to be sledged out of the tranny (not my choice to do this, the other peson did it, and he is the one who was gonna get that tranny)
