just got a call from teh trans shop... we did NOT install the trans incorrectly, nor was the shift linkage installed wrong, the problem is that the first and revearse drum are fused together due to an improper rebuild....


on the upside, a coworker has a 94 or 95 lx v8 70k one owner miles i might buy for $3000 or so.

btw i just got this in an email from the seller and i think they are gonna try to screw me on the warrenty.

"I am going to call him now ,The fact you have a probelm i dont dispute ,however 1 st gear is a roller sprag located at back of tranny and reverse/manual only is the band at rear
reverse is a combo of the reverse input drum at front of tranny turned on along with the rear band applied,1st gear drive is the forward clutch at front of tranny with nothing else holding except the sprag and they are very separate in the tranny .I will call him .

Man what a drama for a new tranny… But it’s not time to give up on the SC yet is it? Even if you have to repair the new one that you just got if the guy screws you on the warranty, it should be cheaper than buying another car to drive. I met you down at Moroso and your SC looked pretty good.

its pretty good, the lower rockers may need repaired again soon *(damn rust) from what ive been told the tranny may not be bad... the car goes in first in R N OD and D and the shifter wont go down into 1.. so its probably just the linkage is jammed into first gear.

Too bad you do not have a spare Valve body to try out...

then you can try swaping that out and see what the hell happens.. since it could be just the valve body that's Fudged..
