Loud cooling fan?

Lately my fan is making way more noise than it used to.

It does run all of the time on low speed. It does not make a bearing noise or anything just overall allot louder.

Is the motor going bad?

If it is a bad motor, what is the best deal on a replacement?

thanks

Ron

Hi Ron:
Seimans makes replacement motors for SC rad fans for about $100.CDN here, so it should be less there. Good luck

I had my fan burn up and burn some wires close to the fuse block. I got a replacement fan at Autozone for about $100, but could not get the old motor out of the fan. I would replace the fan motor if I was you, to avoid if it does burn up, burning up the other wires

Well the motor eother finally fried or blew a fuse.

I found a replacement from Murrays, a Seimens, for $69.00. So one more project for the weekend!

When I did mine, I found that the blades part was pressed on with a clip to keep it there. The clip came off easy but I had to soak the metal sleave with rust buster and press the motor shaft out. Good luck
