This is about my 94 LX.
I had just put a new belt on it (3.8L) and 2 weeks later I snapped a belt. I popped the hood to find nothing out of the ordinary..I spun the alternator, P steering, water pump, etc... Then when I went to spin the idler pulley it wouldnt at all.
So I pulled it off and found that the bearing had come apart from the pulley itself causing it to warp and lock up. So I called Advance Auto Parts, got a new belt and new pulley. Upon opening the box and comparing it to the old one I found that the new pulley is a good 1/2" larger in diameter than the original. I still put it on and its been great no problems.....
So is it a SC idler pulley or is it just a mishap?
