Smoke From Under My Seat

Yesterday I noticed some intermittent failure of my power door locks, thought oh boy, something else to fix...

Well today I get to the gate at work (in a good sized line) and need to turn on the defrost and there is smoke!!!!!

WTF????

I turned it off, then I realized that there is smoke comming from underneath my seat!!!

Thouhgt I was going to have to pull over and get out!

Now neither the power door locks or any of the driver seat buttons are working (didn't the passenger side).

I pulled the fuse, which happens to have door locks and power seats on the same big metal fuse, and it is not blown.... It was warm though....

I kinda don't want to put it back in there, just in case....

I guess I need to pull the seat and see what the deal is...

Any ideas what I'm looking at here????

Did you have burritos last night? :D

But seriously folks... sounds like you have a short somewhere. Have you done any work recently? Like maybe under the dash?

Actually I fond the problem!

I pulled the seat out last night, and the wiring harness had been rubbed down and exposed a few wires!

The problem was that the fuse never blew!!!

I tapped them up for now, and will rewire it this weekend.

CHECK THAT HARNESS YA'LL

I was lucky it didn't burn the car up!!!
