How does fuel shut off switch work?

Going to be parking in a shady neighborhood tomorrow and i was just wondering how the fuel shut off switch in the trunk works. Do u just press the thing down or do you have to follow some procedure with the key on or something? How do u shut it off later? Thanks a lot.

While I don't recommend it, a good whack to the switch should pop it.

Just take the butt end of a screw driver and tap the inherta switch in the trunk and that will disable it. You will know when it pops up. I have done this sevral times. Better than the alarm.
