I need new wires, mine are orginal 1990 wires, they look rough, I want to get some good wires, but JBA doesn't make any for hte SC and neither does MSD, so I did a search on this site and some say the stock wiresa re the best, or are at least good wires, any thoguhts? I see Ed can get them for like $45 or somethign so may be a good choice at least for now, what ya think?

I've got the wires from www.aurorawires.com. I'm not sure about all of the hype and claims being made , but their warranty was honoured by Aurora. If need be I can try and get a better deal for anyone interested. They might charge $80 Cdn instead of $80 US.

I have been giving some thought to changing my ignition system but from what I hear out there everyone keeps coming back to our stock ignition system including our wires. So from what I can see stick to the original wires, just buy a new set.

Stock replacement wires are very good quality.
Whatever you do, DO NOT buy wires from Taylor.
Stock wires for $45 is a great deal.

yeah I heard rumors about Taylor wires, yikes. I was wrong though the stock replacements from ED are $59 not $45 but still a great deal, I may just get his tune up package with wirs, plugs PCV adn other stuff, thanks guys.

Taylor's suck AZZ they just kind of look cool thats all.
I had them before till one day they just went for a ***** I was driving along and then I got this real bad miss and the car felt like it was running on 4-5 cylinders. I have stock one's now but I'm not a big fan of them since there is not much slack in them. I think I will be picking up a set of Aurora wires soon.

The acell 9000 series are what I run on my 93. I am more than satisfied with them especially when inspecting plugs today. When I found one sitting against my header pipe all I could think about was great, one more thing to replace on a brand new engine. Upon closer inspection, there wasnt any damage at all, you could hardly feel any distortion to the surface of the wire and the car is not running any differently than before this happened. I will not ever use or recomend another brand of wire, especially when you consider they are such a reasonable price IMO. I believe they are a stocking item at Summit Racing.

I've got a brand new set of the Ford Motorsport 9mm plug wires coming. Bill McNeil was kind enough to grab them for me from Summit Racing while he was visiting Dave Dalke recently. ...And they're red! ;) I know several SC'ers who have run these wires, with great success. So far, I really haven't heard a single bad comment about how they perform. The only downside is that they're not application specific. You have to buy a set for one of the early 'Stangs with the 4.6L mod motor, and then pull out the six correct wires to use on your SC.
I haven't touched any tune-up related parts on my SC since I replaced the HG's a couple of years ago, and she's due for fresh plugs and stuff. The wires were replaced with stock Ford wires just before I bought the car around three years ago, and they've worked great up to now. I'll definitely keep them around as a back-up set.
Best regards,
Sean

I've had Taylor Spiro-Pro wires on my car for about 3 years now ... no troubles. When they do finally cack, I'll probably just go back to the OE Motorcraft wires.
cheers,
