Ok i got a bday coming up, and I'm gonna ask or some shocks. I would like some decent ones that will compliment the lowering springs that are going on, but they don't have to be crazy. What options do I have?

Stock Tociko's,Tociko Illumina II's,Koni or KYB.the KYB are for the NA T-Bird but will work just not electronic. The Tokico's are both adjustable.

...Or you could run Bilsteins, but again that results in disabling the ARC system. Ed used to be able to get us a deal on these, so you may want to inquire with him about price.

The Bilsteins are no longer in production, so it's whatever is available off the shelf of the various sellers in the U.S. There was a long thread going on TCCoA started by someone who had located a bunch of them, not sure what the latest news is.
cheers,
Ed N.

Even the rears, for the SVT Cobra applications?! Please don't tell me that Ford has already discontinued those parts?!
I guess I had better hope that nothing goes wrong with my fronts, if they can't be replaced.

Sean

Bilsteins out of production..
KONIs.. arrive from Holland in June/July
Tokicos Blue.. 1-3 weeks
This is for the 95 4.6 anyways.. I'm sure it would carry over for other models aswell.

The Cobra shocks are fine, Sean ... they'll likely be around for a while. It's the specific aftermarket T-Bird shocks that are gone. Bilstein can always rebuild their shocks if you send them in, so don't worry about having an issue where a shock is dead, and that you might be stuck with an unusable piece.
thx,
Ed N.

Phhhhewwww! ...That makes me feel a little better. I hope that day never comes, but in the event it does, I wonder how quick their turnaround would be on rebuilding a shock?
Anyway, on the subject of the Bilstein shocks, I picked up my set slightly used off Andrew Vengust. They've been in the car for coming up on a year now, and I've been very happy with the ride.
Cheers,
Sean

yeah I don't really care about the ride control, I never use it anyways. That kinda sucks about the bilsteins but ohwell. are the KYB's good? expensive?

KYBs are cheap.. like $100 for ea front and I think $45 for each rear...
I hear the KYBs are not as good as tokico ( for the same price)
I'm getting Sport shocks for my front and KYBs for my rear... (this is only because KONIs will take for ever to get and Tokico rears will take a month)

Just received a set of Koni adjustable shocks from www.shox.com .
They were $504 USD, and shipping via UPS was free, but they nailed me for $272 for taxes and brokerage - because they listed the value at $1000 USD, instead of the $504 I paid.
So if you talk to them, make sure they fill out the customs documents right.
I'da gone with the Bilsteins, loved them on my Marquis, but couldn't find anything when I needed to order new shocks.
