Just doing mine I'm wondering what kind of per load you did or if at all. I'm haveing so far #1 intake lose still no mater what I do and it's not that it needs a shim.

Jason,
Are you checking with the lifter completely bled down? ...Or is it still pumped up a little?
If it's completely bled down, you may find that the gap closes up nicely once you get some oil pressure into the lifter.
Otherwise, I think you could run a different length pushrod as an alternative to getting the rocker pedestals machined down.
I've got a set to install on my car soon, so I'll be paying attention to what you're going through here.
Cheers,
Sean

Sean,
I'm find it odd that it's only doing it on one so far. It's all most like the pedastal can not go down all the way I tryed it on another motor I have set up on stand and it will bolt down all the way. So I'm kind of lost.

The 1.73 roller rockers are taller than the stock. My suggestion is to not guess but purchase a pushrod checker and verify the correct Zero lash. Then decide if you will have the bases machined or go with the Chevy 7.195" puchrods and shims. My suggestion is the hardened pushrods and shims.

To save yourself future hassle should you choose to swap in a different cam, I would suggest adjustable roller rockers.

I don't see the hardware to allow adjustability with the the pic shown.

Adjustable roller rockers require the heads to be removed and the pedistal machined. The retapped for the 7/16" studs.

Jason--I had to file down the bottoms of the pedistals and even some off the sides to fit into the different slots. Some would fit perfect in the heads other's I had to file down. It took me about 4 hours to get them to work right PITA!! Not too sure if this is the best way to do it but it worked and the car started up afterwards :D

I thought about doing that now what I'm woundering is if the push rods are to long and are going to be leaving some open. Last thing I want is that.
jason ,i have the same ones as well,my push rods were too big and I had to get smaller ones also the pedastal had to be shaved as well.the one thing about these aftermarket rollersrockers is that there not perfect and all of our heads at least casting wise are not the same.one thing about installing them is you want to keep your valve train geometry or those rollers will start to bid up and you'll be wearing parts out.make sure it' s all good or get someone who knows to help you out before you button every thing up

At this point I'm ready to sell them since I have a felling I will need shorter push rods.
ya unfortunately I think that buying just the rockers is not enough, but after all that ,it is a couple of ponies more.
