Well Guys,
I finally made it out to the track with TJ tonight and ran the Bird for the first time. I had a blast! I had never been even been to the track in my life but had fun even though I only got 1 pass in and didin't have much of a clue to what was going on, but TJ showed me the ropes a bit and I let him run my bird the first time around with me just to see what it was like to actually be out there. TJ's time was a 16.7 @ 83mph and my run turned out a 15.9 @ 84mph. The only actuall mods so far are the I/C fan and Cat back exhaust with stock manifolds and downtubes and cats.
The only downfall to the night was me blowing out my 3rd gear syncro on my run. I'll have to get that fixed sometime, probably when I drop the tranny to install the centerforce II clutch! :D But I figured it was gonna happen sometime, sorta like the headgasket monster
Thanks TJ for showing me what it's all about!
:D :D :D :D  :D

That's cool, Greg. I can't wait to hit the Gainesville track in a few months. Not a bad time. Who is this TJ person? Must be someone on here. How much do you think it will cost to get that synchro fixed? Let me know when you are coming down again.

I'm T.J.
I didn't want to tear *** into Greg's bird...so that's why I sorta babied her out and babied the gears. Even with that, we still hurt the tranny. Too bad my bird wasn't up..or it would have been a much better night.
Glad I could show you a thing or two, Greg.
Greg, watch out it can become addicting!!! I live way over on the west side and it takes me a while to get there other wise I might be there all the time. :D :D

Good time Greg, glad to see you got a chance to run her, all the works paid off huh....
Hey TJ, do you have an ETA on your bird being back on the road??

As of now: No.
I'm taking some summer classes. so school takes priority over the car for the moment. I'll still have a few hundred saved up, but only about a third of the total. However, I am anticipating "20", so we'll see what kind of cash flow comes my way around the beginning of may.
I didn't want to beat on Greg's Silver Streak in fear that I'll make a repeat performance of my, as Flip puts it, Red Devil.

Well, sorta good news, the 3rd gear syncro isin't nearly as bad as I originally thought, it's still very driveable, I just have to drive it like a car and not a space ship. :o
I was looking at the U-Pull-it junkyard in Sanford today with my brother-in-law and ran across a 90 SC engine and tranny out of the car totally complete. but it was an auto that was attached to it. and they wanted $1,200 for it!
I'll get it fixed sooner or later, untill then I'll be gentle on her ;)

I apologize once again, Greg.

I'd offer $700.00 for that engine. The tranny could go for about 250-300, the blower and accessories for about 400 to a mustang guy. Then the rest is yours :)

Hey TJ, again, NOT YOUR FAULT! it was gonna happen sometime! :)
I just look at it as a way to eliminate another weak point on the SC by rebuilding it the right way.
JJ, I didin't even bother trying to talk to the guys at the U-Pull-It, I now sorta wish I had just to see what the deal was with it, I know the heads looked damn shiney and the valve cover gaskets looked new, who knows it may have just had the head gaskets replaced and possibly some port work done that the parts guys didin't know about! I know the same place had a blower and I/C tubes for sale on the shelf about 4 months ago.
I also Know that the anniversary edition is still in tact engine wise, they must still want a fortune for that engine, but it also had an auto tranny.
