View Full Version : do I need new injectors

I pulled the fuel injectors to day and I think i've got a BIG truble
on 4 injectors the orange plastic covering the tip is cracked and one is missing
can they be changed or do I need new injectors?
if the can be fixed where do I get the parts ?
if not what's the best place to get new ones?

for sale one kidny , need cash to fix car

Usually from an auto-parts store like NAPA or Carquest, you can buy a kit with replacement injector pintle caps and o-rings. Ford only sells complete injectors.

check you injector hole in the head, you will probbaly find the missing cap still stuck in the hole. Sometimes when you pull the injector out it gets stuck in there.

Just look up places that do I injector cleaning.

I've never looked my self but I'm sure if you look in the yellow pages under automotive you will find carborator rebuilders and fuel injector rebuilders.Or you can go the expensive route and by new injectors.I bet it will only take you 10 mins to find somthing in the phone book. :D

Injector cleaning can run you $25 per injector.

im getting r/b injectors from a friend 50$ each he's the cheepest one I
could find . I asked for new pintle caps at napa and they didn't have a kit.
