im still debating on what to do with the sc.... whether to sell it as is or whatever......

i had a thought... does florida allow for discounted insurance rates for having a second "pleasure vehicle"

i was thinking of buying a new car, not a beater per say, but not a trans am/mark viii, GTP like i had been looking into.....

and then buying the junkyard parts for the sc, maybe a cervinis ram air hood, and then taking the whole car to a body shop, having all the rust removed, and getting a complete paintjob....

i figure for $3k i could get the sc looking good and then use it as a weekend car for cruising and shows and stuff, i know there is a limit on how many miles you can put on it, and things like that..... anyone ever looked into this?

Pete, my SC is insured as a "Recreation Vehicle", but it's my second vehicle. Also, I'm limited to a certain number of miles. I don't remember the number, but since my car is always broken it doesn't matter.

My SC is insured as a pleasure vehicle just as my Cobra is. How much of a discount does Allstate give me? To be honest I don't know. You will have to check with your agent. As far any limitations, I believe the mileage has to be kept less than 10,000 miles per year. Now it would be more cost effective to get antique or collectable car insurance as I have on my 69 Cougar. That car only costs me $90 per year for full coverage! :D But you are very limited to the usage of a vehicle under such coverage. Last year I tried to get the same coverage on the SC and no one would consider it a specialty or collectable car.
