View Full Version : Question on 3.73 Posi install/A/C

I am soon about to install my 3.73 posi-pumpkin on my '95 SC. A friend of mine at work raised the question about accessory pullies. He says that with your engine RPMs up, that your accesssory pulleys will be turning faster too, and may cause premature bearing failures. Seems to make sense. Anybody out there with 3.73s in their automatic experiencing any problems like that, i.e., AC compressor/power steering/alternator bearing failures? Are there larger pulleys available to offset the higher RPMs??? Thanks.

You shouldnt have any problems with the accesories after the gear swap. unless you are doing alot of highway driving, I don't even think that you would notice a large increase of RPM's. there are Underdrive pulley's that you can buy, and they are supposed to be worth 10-15 hp at the crank.
