My Diff with Track-Lock arrived today. Thanks to Dan M (forget his screen name)

FedEx dropped it off today. I have the rebuild kits and gears from Ed (3.73s) aswell.

This bastard is heavy 83.5lbs I think it weighed in at... ouch. Just from looking at it I think I want to sand blast it first and maybe just hit it with a coat of black paint.. Is the diff cover on this thing aluminum or something...?

Well a my buddy works with a guy that will probably install the gears for free... $50 at the most... they will be in next month for sure, for the track. I think I will sandblast it, paint it Then give it to the guy to install gears. then put it in so.. a couple few weeks at the most probably...

now I just need to find a sandblaster or someplace to do it.....

Cam,

I don't think that pumpkin would fit in my little blast cabinet, otherwise you could come and use mine.

This coming Saturday is the track day, so I'm guessing you mean that you'll be ready next month to take the car to the track with the new gears installed.

Let me know when you're ready to do the swap. I'll try to come out and give you a hand.

Cheers,

Sean

Congratulations on your new......... pig! LOL!

All the carrier covers on our cars are aluminum, Cam. Ford was even nice enough to provide this on the 7.5" units. Unless you have Cobra or Mark VIII carrier the main housing is the "lovely" cast unit. The others were aluminum, which saved, are you ready, a WHOPPING 15 pounds.

Anyways, some high-temp Green paint would look good on that main housing. ;) Good luck with it!

Yeh I will bring the car this Saturday to the track, the 3.73s will be in for next month for the track.

Thanks for the use of yer sand blaster... If it would fit I would use :) I might use the one at school or something.... I will figure something out.

I'm not sure if I would to it on my budds hoist at work or not... On a Saturday there would be a few mechanics there and we would have from like 7am to 1pm I think.... maybe a bit more. It should be good :)

The Steeda U/Ds are going in tomorrow along with the TCC solenoid and the drain plug in the tranny pan. I think I will try to put the new fuel pump in on wed. Hopefully that is the thing that wont hold pressure then the motor is shut off.

Cam, if the pump doesn't do the trick, i've got a Kirban adjustable fuel pressure regulator here you can borrow to help diagnose the problem.

If not I may just have to borrow that off of you. :D
