Fold down L braces

Hey all......

I am finally gonna move my SC setup into the 97 and was wondering if anybody had the L braces available for the rear fold down...... I found a set in NY but the guy wants $20 USD to ship them.... ouch.....

Hey Jared,

I'm pretty sure there is a wrecker up here with those braces from an SC. I remember that the rear seat was gone but I don't remember if the braces were in place or not. I can check it out for you later this week and see what they have, but that's the best I can do right now. How much are you willing to pay for these?

BTW - P.M. me your e-mail add'y, please. I'm getting prices for the J-Mod by the end of this week, I hope.

Thanks, whatever you can find out will be great...... I wm guessing that maybe 40 or 50 bucks would be the limit, but use some haggling skills if you can :cool:


Got my garage cleand up some, enough to get a car in anyways ( its supposed to be a double garage but has so much junk in it, fits only one!!) BTW I have a jack and stands, but not much in hand tools so you may want to bring some stuff down..... Anytime you think you can make a trip down to do the J-mod let me know and I'll clear my sched...... Thanks for all your help and time.....

I thought I had a really sweet deal for you..... free. But it didn't pan out. They were to be used. I'm going to the wreckers' this week for one last part - i'll check then.

what are these braces...have a 60/40 split back seat from a 89 XR7 ...but BRACES? what braces .....also have a 90 LX back seat ...with the fold down armrest in the center .....dave

When you look at a non-fold down seat from the trunk there is a metal v-shaped brace that you see holding seat up...... on a fold down set there is l shaped braces so that when you fold down teh seat, there isn't a metal piece in the way......

I may have what you need ..I undid every bolt nut clip...but I'll have to look.. been a couple of years since it went in the garage...let you know tonite on that......dave

I see no braces on the seat itself ..and as far as I can tell and remember..it bolts to the body of the car...and what it bolted to ..would need a cutting tourch to take it out....damn a pic would greatly help...manual only shows a non 60/40 seat ..and not what it is bolted to....dave

Got 'em. $20. Unfortunately, they don't have the fabric on them. Hope that's acceptable. I'll bring them when I come to do your tranny stuff.
