Well the harmonic balancer failed on the SC yesterday ( as expected after the rebuild) now comes the question before i go ordering a BHJ from SCP does anyone have a BHJ balancer for sale in the GTA ? PLEASE message me ASAP if you do. Thanks a million
Nick
( ps the bolt is stuck in the crank too !~)

No one that I know sells the BHJ's in Toronto. I do believe that Paul from BTM has better prices than SCP for the balancers.

The question is..........why did you not change the balancer when you did the rebuild?? You could have saved yourself all this time, money, and frustration (broken bolt) if you had done it then.

i didnt have the extra couple of hundred to do it at that time :(

Anyone know how long it usually takes to come in
if i order it from SCP or the other guy ?
Thanks
( it is my daily driver  )

Nick,

If this is your daily driver, order a stock balancer from Ford.

I may cost you up to $600 by the time you get a BHJ to your door.

I got one from Paul at BTM and it didn't take too long to come in maybe a week and a half. I think overall cost was just under $400 cnd with taxes and duty.(I bought mine through a group buy so it may be a little more then that) You also have to buy a zero balanced crank pulley so Bill probably is very close to what it would cost.

I believe there are many guys who have removed the unbalance pins from their stock crank pulleys and bolted them right up to a BHJ balancer without any problems. You could have the assembly balanced at a machine shop if you wish to play it safe.

Cheers,

Sean

i just emailed him last week and it said delivery failure
does anyone have a phone # or email i could reach him at ?>
$600 isnt a problem bill if it means peace of mind for
future mods then ill do it !

I would suggest you balance it as a unit with the pulley mounted.
If its installed unbalanced it could cause the bolt to break in the crank.
Like mine did. :(

Well $1100  Later the SC runs again.
Replaced the balancer ( stock one i couldnt wait 2.5 weeks for the BHJ)
Replaced the Thermostat and gasket ( it was leaking )
and replaced the waterpump to Thermostat bypass hose .

Now that im pretty sure "most of " the common things to break
on the SC are fixed in mine i can start modding hehehehe ;)

New breaks front and rear $500
Engine Rebuild 20,000km ago $2000
Harmonic Balancer $1100
Engine Mounts $1100
Belts, Plugs and Wires $180
Rad Cap and PCV Valve $20
Towing Charges $100

 $5000 just in 1 year of "Maintenance"

Driving the SC when it Works ( " PRICELESS " )

I have to ask, how did the stock balancer cost you 1100 bucks?

And your "Maintenance" fees look low.......LOL. I'd hate to tally up mine or some others club memebers for that matter. These cars are great, but pricey to keep going.

I got
New Balancer with crankshaft pulley assembly
New waterpump to thermostat housing hose
New bolt for HB
New tap for the crank ( threads were stripped)
And Labour

When i had the engine mounts replaced i also had to
replace my high pressure steering line cause my engine
crushed it when the mounts broke hehehhee
Plus i had a coolant flush while the hoses were off

( I also forgot to put lower left balljoint and tie rods = $ 300 )

So $5300 hehhehe

That is way to much for engine mounts and even installed with solid mounts.I hope you did the crank sensor aswell when you did the balancer! :D
