Speedo gear for 3.27s in a 5-speed?

According to the calculator in the faqs I should use a 20 tooth (19.8), according to supercoupeperformance it should be 21. Anybody have any experience or theories on which is more accurate? I know the speedo isnt exact stock, maybe scp is trying to make up for that with the 21?

Thanks,

If you have stock diameter tires, go with the 20. If you have significantly shorter than stock tires (which changes the effective gear ratio), go for a 21.

Do they make a 20 tooth gear?

Based on the percentage change between the 2.73s to 3.27 (.1978) added 3.36 teeth to the Stock 17 tooth 2.73 gear I pulled out.

I am using the red 21 tooth. C40Z17271A. about $7 at my local Ford store

Question for the experts. I think the 21 tooth reads about 3% slow and a 20 tooth would read 2% fast. Am I right?

20 tooth is the black C1DZ 17271 A. I'm using that one, since my tires are slightly taller than stock.

I have the black one as well and running stock size tires. My speedo will read 5mph faster. Keeps out of speeding tickets...lol.
