Deciphering O2 sensor fault codes?!

I ran codes on the Thunderbird today after getting periodic check-engine light blinking since my last dyno run (2 weeks ago). Since almost every code from 171 to 189 deals with o2 sensor faults, I need someone to explain what is happening in plain english. Here are the codes I'm getting, and their book descriptions:

CODE 179 - OXYGEN SENSOR FAULT, UNABLE TO SWITCH / RICH during part throttle BANK #1

CODE 188 - OXYGEN SENSOR FAULT, UNABLE TO SWITCH / LEAN during part throttle BANK #2

Are these codes related, or just coincidental?

Does this mean they are faulty and need replacing, or that they are reading a certain condition during part throttle that is not normal, and the computer is reporting back on this condition?

Thanks in advance,

Sounds like you have a tired O2 sensor

Well, sounds like the O2's are going ca-put!!

I had this on ly car also. They will come on and go off especially when going cruising and then slowing down to a stop, check engine light on and then 30 seconds later -- off.

If they are original, I would try replacing the,

Also, have you changed anything recently????

Call me if you have more questions and a more detailed explaination.
