New SC owner

I've been lurking now for a few weeks gathering info before I picked up my 91 SC. It was 200.00 and was in pretty good shape other than the engine. It has a thrown rod and will be down till I can either fix it or drop a new engine in. Anyone with tips or info regarding repair of a rod would be appreciated. I'll post some pics as soon as I can.

Are you gonna go with another 3.8sc or something different. I'm thinking of a 302
