A friend calls me up for a ride to Orlando International Airport. I said No biggee, let's ride. Driving up I-95 and get boxed, a Jeep and an 18-wheeler in front of me, and an 18-wheeler on the side of me. All of a sudden, I noticed the rig on my right was getting REALLY REALLY close. The guy turned right into me. He forced me off the road into the median, and didn't even stop.

My friend tried to call FHP but no one answered.

Oh well, what can ya do?

Where is the little smilie with it's middle finger up? Haha

Damn, that sucks. How bad is it? At least you weren't hurt.

I had a similar thing happen to me when I was in college. I was in the left lane and a truck came into the line. I squeezed onto the 5' wide shoulder and managed to drop behind him without going off the road or hitting him. The guy didn't have a clue.

Nothing adverse happened to the car other than wearing my brake pads out. You could smell them for quite some time after I stopped. I had that idea also, to ride the shoulder, but there were far too many people behind me to try it.

It is typical for those trucks. They always cause clots and congestion on I-95. I wish DOT had been around.

The ones that make me nervous are the idiots running at 70mph with a full load and they get right on your bumper.

Got so pissed at one the other day, I followed him to his terminal-lo and behold, it's one where a friend of mine works as the safety officer. The driver was pulled from his route for a solid week to attend remedial skills courses-good thing I'm changing Bird colors, cause he's gotta be hopping right now!

It is sheer irresponsibility. They are driving vehicles that could easily cause the deaths of numerous motorists. I have to say that 95% of the drivers I see in those rigs are good, cautious drivers, but that other 5% could easily make problems for anyone, i.e. my case.
