Alright, most of you probably don't know about this. I go to the same high school that, last year, Ashley Steffan got hit by another classmate while waiting for the bus, because she lost control of her car driving too fast through a neighborhood.Well, not too long ago, I was driving down a road with 1 main lane and 1 parking lane, with no cars in it.

Infact, it might even be a 2 lane road, I'm not sure. I see people driving in both lanes all the time. Anyways, she(Ashley's mom) was driving 25 and talking on her cell phone. The speed limit through there is 30. Myself, and 4 or 5 other cars passed her in the right lane. Apparently, she called all of our plates in to the cops, because I heard from other people that another person got a ticket from our school. I got a "Unsafe Passing on the Right" ticket. I took it to court, because the cop wasn't there and is just going by her word.

Anyways, yesterday, 2 or 3 of my friends got called up to the office. They all have trucks with modified exhaust, and the ones that got called up have the sticker "Loud Pipes Save Lives". Apparently, she finds this 'highly offensive', and wants it taken off.

I'm sorry, but that's just a crock of ****. How is that even offensive? Plus, it's THEIR vehicles, they can do what they want with it. If everyone complained about something offensive, imagine how screwed up everything would be. My friends refused to take them off, and apparently she left crying, or something of that sort.

And yes, I do understand that she lost her daughter and that it's very painful, but I'm sorry, she just needs something better to do with her time. I don't think she has a job, maybe that would do something for her.

It's quite obvious that this childs mother has become unstable probably because of immense grief. It doesn't excuse her actions but makes them a little easier to understand. I think the mother needs to seek or continue aggressive counseling. I can't even begin to think how I would be affected were this to happen to one of my children. It is apparent in her case though that even the hint of a speeding vehicle such as a bumper sticker reffering to loud mufflers is enough to trigger some sort of angry phsychosis. Probably not helped by the fact that she probably feels cheated by our entire justice system with the verdict she recieved on the burial expenses. I fear what she my be cabable of next if this is not addressed right now.

i take back the part of confronting her, i had a bad day

what was said above seems to be the best way i understand it also. it's wrong that she reacts that way but you have to put yourself in her shoes. sounds like she needs mental therapy though. thats really sad

Well I can't blame anyone for being mad about someone else getting way out of shape over a bumper sticker. But if you read on in the story that is linked it is quite obvious this made this mother quite unstable. To the point she has threatend bodily harm to this other young girl and to herself...I am totally serious when I say that this needs to be addressed by her now. Someone close to her needs to recognize that she is not well and intervene before it is too late.

I hear you on that one. I too believe in freedom of speech and what not....hell, I protect those rights. (Air Force!!) But I have been told to remove my shirts, turn them inside out, remove my bumper stickers(they are not on my bumper), and I tell everyone to mind your own damn business and I press on. I have a couple offensive shirts, yes....One says, "Help Stop Rape, Consent", the other says, "Rape is no laughing matter", on the front, then on the back it says, "Unless your raping a clown" and it has a clown picture. I hate clowns....anyway...and i have one that says, "I talk to jesus, He is my Mexican gardner." I laughed my *** of when I saw those shirts and I had to get them.

Anyway, point is, people dont like what you have on(either what your wearing or on your car), tell them to worry about how the world is going to hell, try to change it, then come talk to me, when the world is perfect, about my offensive material. But then again, I am an a$$hole and rather blunt, so I have no problem with telling people off.
