View Full Version : idle problem - any ideas?

i have a 94 5 speed and I asked this same question in the fall, but the car has been stored for the winter. I have already replaced the IAC, TPS, and the Temp sensor. The car idles fine at arount 800, but after driving and coming to a stop, the idle sits around 1500 and gradually decreases to its resting 800 idle. The IAC was a FORD part replacement, but the tps and the temp sensor were aftermarket. Anyone experience this or have any ideas how I can diagnose or fix it?

I don't know if your problem is same as what I was experiencing, but mine would stall out after idling for awhile. However, if I had the A/C on, it seemed to run better at idle. I was told to try replacing my crank sensor, which I just did yesterday. I'll see how it does rest of week.

mine idled at 2000 after i had my throttle body off until i unhooked the battery to reset it then i would stall at stop signs for 3 days until it adjusted and runs fine now
