Looking for info on the right deal on a cheap laptop, something in the realm of 400mghz or better with around 10 gig HD?
Next, anyone know of one stupid cheap, like 100 bucks or less, it only needs to run the shiftmaster tuner software. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

older laptop really keep thier resale. 100$ more then likely will not happen. I just picked up a IBM 600E series laptop 10gig pII 366 13.3 lcd for 350$ and that was a good deal. for under 300$ you ain't getting much . Depends what you need it for (like for shop use) may be better to get a desktop on a cart. That way you get rolling for under a 100$

Paul,

Are you on the East Coast? I could probably hook you up.

Every so often I see one on eBay; otherwise the only place I have seen them at this price is in the paper or similar media being sold by a personal party. I have also been looking for one around this price range.

Well, I picked these up yesterday http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3479217978. They will be used for tuning only so the low specs will still meet my needs.
I am still in the market for a "decent" unit though in the 400 mghz range. Doug, I am not on the east coast, however, I will be at Carlisle and perhaps in NYC for a few days prior, drop me a line with details when you get a chance.

Paul - I've got a Dell 500mhz w/cd, floppy, lan/phone modem, 2 usb's, parralel, serial, infared remote sensor, 10gig, 128mg ram & fresh install with all updates of Win2k (most solid platform in my opinion) if your interested. Also plenty microsoft I just installed. I would part with it for 400 if you'd like. I just picked it up for programming, but work hooked me up with a 2.8ghz so I'll part with it for what I got it for.

Let me know & we can meet up,
Anthony
