help testing injectors and other injector ?'s

I read somewhere about using a 9-volt battery to pulse the injectors while putting 40 psi of air to them to test them. Well one thing I noticed is that I can hear them click so I don't have to only rely on air flow to determine if they are energizing. Is a 9-volt the way to go, or does someone know the proper voltage to use? Should I limit how much I pulse them for risk of burning them out? I was doing this but was getting mixed results. One thing though the battery I was using was well used. Tomorrow I'm gonna buy a new 9-volt, but looking for some insight too so I don't ruin my injectors if they are good, or better ways or whatever tips to get the results I want. If I do end up needing to replace them, is there a disadvantage to going with larger injectors in case I upgrade later? Thanks. Jay

I can't fathom that a 9V battery could do any harm to an injector. I'd be amazed if it could provide so much as 1/2 amp. I'm not sure it would even have enough Ummmph to open the injector.
