Valve Float / Weak Valve Springs / How to know?

I did a search, but came up with nothing. Can anyone explain what the effects/affects of weak valve springs are? When should we change them. Should we get "stiffer" springs?
 
Weak valve springs would only be a factor if you change your cam and intend to get HP @ higher rpm. Our motors develop all our torque around 3400 and max Hp about 5200 rpm. I dont think we could see valve float due to our rev limiters unless your motor has severly over heated at one point or has 300k on the clock and I think other issues would take place before valve float.
Anyone else?
