89+90 processors interchangable??? Need to know!!!!

I have an 89 SC with auto and EGR. I want to swap a processor that I have for a 90 Auto into it since the 90 auto did not have an EGR valve and has the plug for it in the harness.

Can I swap the processors out or are their pinout problems. According to all the books I have, the harnesses are the same. Just want to make sure before "ZAP!!!".

some actually have a different pinout.

If one had EGR and the other didnt Just swap in teh one that dosent account for your EGR and remove the EGR system and block it off. Its a pain anyway to have back there.
