View Full Version : 89 power steering hose on a 91!?

It looks, I'll find out for use firday when the local NAPA ships in both lines, like I have a 89 power steering pressure line on my 91 SC. Anyone else see this?

The difference is, the 89 has an O-ring visible on the connection at the back of the pump and the end of the tube is flat. Where the 91 has no visible O-ring and a conical metal flare where the tube ends in the pump.

I received a 91 style for my 91 at Autozone and put it on when the old line started leaking out of the fitting. The new line leaked just as bad if not worse than the old one. So I'm going to try and go back to the original one. As far as I know I have never had the power steering pump replaced.

This has be baffled and scared since the line fits in the vairable assist module and not the pump, so I would have to go to the dealer for a new 91+ style one. Not an inexpensive proposition.

Sorry about the poor discription, If i had my camera I would take some pictures, but don't so I can't.
