Sounds like a plan. I just got to see how much cas I'm going to have. I'm not going to be able to race though. I won't pass tech because of an oil leak and a leaky radiator. Will dyno though. Gimme a call to work details out. 719-210-8342

I'm trying to get a list together for the dyno on Sat 6/26/04.
Please post here with the car model & year, & your name if you want to be counted.
I will add names to the list below, as you post.
We have the dyno from 10am -3pm.
I will try to reserve everyone a spot but since we only have 5 hrs, it may be on a first come, first serve basis.
Note, this dyno is setup for T-Birds first, though we will make exceptions to fill the spots.
We need a minimum of 10 cars for this.

Hello,
I've been talking with Jeramie over on the Taurus (TCCA) forum. He mentioned to me (via email) that there might be some spare slots available for this dyno day. If you need another non-T-bird car to round out the 10, I'd like to bring my 96 Sable.

Yes, you can bring the sable ( is this the high powered one he spoke of?)
If so we definately want to see it on the dyno.
If not you can still get in, Only catch is I promised TBirds, first spots but they have to be there to get on the dyno...so If your there early you'll likely get on!

Todd, Bills' car has the 3.0L 24V duratec engine, which is mostly stock save for a 75mm MAF, and K&N I believe. It is gonna be interesting comparing its output to the 3.0L 24V SHO engine (yamaha designed). We might have a SHO or two show up. I highly doubt we will have 10 t-birds, but you never know.

I'd like to bring my GTP to the dyno to get a baseline before a few minor mods .. so if there's a spot open .. put me on the list.. if it's OK with everyone (be interesting to see the output differences between the diff SC 3.8's).. I promise I'll have my bird running one of these days.. and actally bring it to one of these shindigs..

The Sable engine is the stock 24Valve DOHC, except for the 75mm MAF and "filter on a stick". Actually, it was running slower than other similar cars at the drag strip last week, so I'd like to see if there are any particular low spots in the power/torque output, or whether it is just low all over. (Maybe I should just give up and get an SC instead ;) )

I'll plan on being there early, and understand there may not be time if enough T-birds are there.

Jeramie, I think we will have 10 birds or more if all you local guys bring your cars. But as I said before anyone is welcome...we just want to keep the dyno for birds first, but that depends on who shows to dyno early.
You guys are on the list.

I already have ridden in one. or maybe even three of em :) They are a lot of fun, but I have my eye on a Mark. Plus everyone wants to much money for their SC's :) I can get a decked out Mark for what some people are asking for their SC's... but we will see. I am open to either SC, 96/97 4.6, or a Mark... Just has to be leather and has to have a sun roof... And engine has to be sound... Tranny can need replacing as long as it is a Auto... Anyways, can't wait to see all the birds in one spot.

bitch a bit & tell them we were told they would hold the rooms until 6-18..

Nick,
I'm posting under my other halfs ID. I called last weekend to chat with you.
Your gal ( I guess thats who she was, bring her along),said you both where planning on attending.
Hope you can make it.
Looking forward to meeting you.
In case your interested, Michele usually races the SC(unless I'm Lucky), and there will be several of the guys bringing there girls with them.

It looks like we will have at least (3) 300+ hp SCs at the dyno & show/race; mine included. So if you've never been around a powerful SC this would be your chance to see how they can perform.
My SC previously put down 376 rwhp & 407 rwtq, so that equates to close to 450 Hp at the crank.
92 Bird will be there with his 5 speed & lat fall he put down like 330 rwhp & 400 rwtq.
Ron Lauers SC is just getting finished up & we expect him to put down close to 300 rwhp

Call if you want to discuss the meet, events, etc...970-580-0909

Theres only 2 classes we can compete in.
The 5.0 shootout or the street class.
We all can compete in 1 class or split up & do whatever.
Last year Michele & I were lead to beleive we had to run in the street class, only to find out later that wasn't true.
You know the old thing, if its a Ford it must be a Mustang( isn't the stang the only car Ford ever made?
She ended up racing slow old trucks & slow stangs etc. There were some lightnings & a few faster cars but most were even things like old galaxie 500s & the like.
They say we can run in the 5.0 class, that includes 4.6s & 5.4s, however strange it may seem. I feel it would be more fun to run some real cars no matter how fast they are. Last year there were stock stangs running from 16s down to SCed stangs in the 10s. (most cars in the class ran 13s & 14s)
If we win ( fat chance) it would be a bit funny if a 3.8 won the 5.0 class at the Ford fest...he, he, he...( hell its a 5.0, its just running on 6 cyl)
We'd just like to kick some 5.0 mustang but!( be it slow or fast)
What do you guys think?

Got some bad news.. I will not be attending with my SC this year :(

They just sprayed it tonight, and will buff it out next week. It looks immaculate (words cannot express how nice it looks), but there is too much work to do before the show. The interior is fully dis-assembled, and so is the exterior. My downpipe welds cracked on the exhaust and I need to re-do the whole thing again.. It sounds like *** right now.

I rushed some things and may regret doing so, so I am stopping right now and just doing everything right.

Ron is in the same boat I am, not enough time to have his car ready. He has been borrowing his Grandpa's van to do his job (a courier), and can no longer use it. In order to keep his job he has to get another car to use (obvisouly NOT his SC), so I found him a nice running, low mileaged Taurus SHO that has some mild front end damage for $400 (car also has about $2,500 worth of suspention mods..). The car is worth $8,500 or so (before the accident) its really a nice car, so it would have been dumb to pass up that deal.

http://members.tccoa.com/92bird/sho/Mvc-012s.jpg

I committed to the dyno run, so if my presence is needed to make 10 people I will keep my commitment and run with my Taurus. Ron will most likely NOT be able to participate in the dyno. If he does, it will probably be with his new SHO..

I will be at the race for sure and at the dyno day, just not dynoing. There is a small chance I might fly down to Texas and pick up a Mark and bring it back for Saturday otherwise I will just have my Tbird which I already have the baseline for. Beyond that about the race and which class to run in. I had bee wondering about that and is actually the reason I got on here today was to ask... I don't care which class I run in, it's all bracketed and handicapped right? Which class has the cooler prize for winning? Cause I'd like to get some money or hardware (got to aim for something right?) I won't be staying at the hotel, a friend volunteered her place for me.

The Harley is nice. He has a lot of money in it and it is fairly fast. Surprised me. It rides on full air suspension and is nice... The SVT is alright, but the Harley is what I would like to see on the Dyno. I will give him a call and see if he wants to. He is not much of a people person, but I will see if I can get him to stop by. I doubt he is going to the race/show simply because he isn't into that kind of stuff.

Cool, can't wait to see it. or take a ride, Maybe next year you can tag along with the bunch that comes down to Julesburg Dragstrip once in a while.
You will see better ETs down a bit lower than Bandamere.
Our 92 generally sees 13.8-14.2 at Denver but runs 13.3-13.5 at Julesburg.
Our best ET to date was a year ago at St Louis when we ran 13.0 @103mph.
The car only made 298rwhp at that time & now its seeing between 350-375rwhp
so our low elevation ETs should easily be in the Mid 12s.
Look forward to seeing you again.
