Master cylinder finally bit it?

Summer time again and that means spending hard earned money on the bird. Tonight after an hour of freeway driving, I pulled into a residential section. Lots of stop signs and such. After one of these I lost most breaking ability. Pedal went hard with very little give. Worst part is that no lights were on. Had to use the e-brake to stop. After a good minute of sitting there, the pedal finally came back. I drove a bit more to start heading to my house and happened again. Luckily there weren't other cars around and I wasn't going very fast.

I had the Accumulator replaced with a PriorReman one last summer. Both brake lights would come on under consecutive heavy braking. They weren't to the point of staying on all the time or everytime you hit the brakes. Brake pads were replaced in December.
Could an air pocket or something be causing the pump to malfunction? Is this something that can be fixed with a good bleeding?
Is my master cylinder finally calling it quits?
