Pre-register now! We are not taking money just yet but if you would like to participate in the shootout, please pre-register so we can gauge participation.

Also, please take the time to read through the rules and classes to see where you fit best. I am sure there will be questions, so feel free to ask away!

SC UL8R1990 I am only running a few bolt-ons to.
So I probably will get spanked to.This just means
I can start to party earler.

My problem is being able to afford a trans that will live long
enough to drive that far and race then drive back.I have
figured that IT will take one trans for the drive to the track,
one for the race, and then one more AOD for the drive home. :D

Dave, I want to race my 90 AOD in the street stock class, but I don't have cats.

The only things I have modified on the car are a K&N filter (might get a MAC or ZR by the shootout), 70mm MAF off a 95 SC, cats removed, stock resonator and cherry bomb turbo II mufflers (will have the flowmaster cat back on at the shootout probably), transgo shift kit, and a 190 lph fuel pump. So I wouldn't stand much of a chance in the modified class with this heavy stock geared sc, unless I was allowed to use nitrous, then maybe I would be competitive. I don't see the catalytic convertors adding much hp to my setup, maybe like 4-6 hp at the wheels but I have never baseline dyno'd this car.

But according to the rules, I must meet the street stock rules to be able to use nitrous and run in the modified class and without the cats I don't meet the street stock rules. The car has 193k on it and the cats were plugging so I took them off when I had the heads off the car. I have stock valve size heads and a factory stock camshaft.

If you aren't competitive in a heads-up class, feel free to run brackets with me. The bracket classes will be fun with a cash payout. What more could you want?

Also count on plenty of time for time trials and match racing. Gotta grudge? Lets have it out before eliminations. Remember, regardless only one person can win. There will be tons of time to work on personal bests and a chance to line up with whomever you want. What more could you ask for? :D

Scott, sounds like you will be in the bolt on class. Remember, no cams allowed. How fast do you think anyone can go with a stock cam? Best I've ever seen is 13.5 but those were on ET streets and they aren't allowed in bolt on class. I think your car will do fine in that class. Biggest thing is, get some tires. ;)

Randy,

Your running in Pro-street class aren't you?

Randy N Connie
06-13-2004, 08:23 PM
Slysc yes if that the 15 second class. The same class Damon runs in. :)

Kidding aside,we will not be racing this year, can't afford it.May not even
have enough money to go and watch. :(

So if I buy some cheap cats and weld them in, I could run in the street stock class and be competitive, or I could buy a nitrous kit and run in the modified class.... hmmm.

Say I had my big block SC ready in time. Anyone plan on running in the pro-mod class? Rick you gonna bring a big block SC this year?

XR7 Dave
06-13-2004, 08:40 PM
Now you're thinking.

I expect to see at minimum Wayne Ing, Rich Bruhn, Gary Kuhn and Chris Lazzo in the Pro Mod class. Not sure who else.... It will be interesting to say the least. :D

Kurt K

I never saw it spelled out (although, I could be blind), but is it ok to compete in both heads up and brackets?

Parker Dean

I'd enter too, but I didn't se an Exxon Valdez/toxicwastedump class so I guess I'm out :D

I hope alot of you guys in the surrounding area are going to try to make it out to the shootout this year. Im making big plans for it, since i missed carlisle :( I'm hoping my dad will let me take the suburban and a buddies trailer so i can really let the sc rip, hehe. Don't want a tow bill

randy n connie, lol about the tranny. i hope you at least try to make it to watch!!! :D

I pre-registered for the event! I would like to get it together and actually go to something!

I didn't read the rules and signed up for the modified class, but I've done a cam so I'll have to change it. So I might do the bracket thing, or enter the 94 in the stock class and bracket my 89. I don't see doing much in the pro-street class.

Dave...how did I race in the Modified Class last year but I can't fit in the Modified class this year? My crane cam is keeping me out.

I would like to register again.

Micah, we adjusted the classes slightly so that it didn't end up with one huge class and a couple of smaller classes like last year. It should even it out some.

Steve,

To date I have received only one registration notifacation (from Dan Sly), but no payment info was included. It appears as if the pre-registration notifications are going somewhere else. Can you talk to Mike and have them sent to me, or if you perfer I can contact him directly. Please advise.

Thanks, David

David, the preregistrations are coming to me at this time. I can forward them to you or I can just post statistics as they come in.

Micah, plan on running in the bracket classes with the rest of us. If you can get that thing to break into the 13's this summer then we can have some fun in Pro ET with a .400 tree. :D

I am probably going to run in the et class. i wont be competitive in the other classes. Do I still have to list my mods? Tim

XR7 Dave
06-17-2004, 06:51 AM
Listing your mods helps us determine what the cross section of participants is going to be. It also helps us to be able to let you know if you are registered for a class that you don't qualify for.

Remember, you will be required to pass tech prior to running and will be assigned a class. We are trying to help you avoid surprises. SC Shootout tech instpector decisions will be final.

Yes I will be there and what I am bringing is still up in the air. I just got one of my black beast's running again, so who knows. It is going to the dyno this next week to get tuned in . If it comes out anything like if feels LOOK OUT.... This thing likes to spin the tires, even in second gear... Dave N. mark me down somewhere, and we will go from there............Rich.... P.S. Scott should be going as well with his new trans in place, this could be a fun time yet.........Rich

maybe the reason you aren't getting much response is that it can't be found or theres no sticky up!
I just stumbled across this tonight. ...lucky I did as I've been looking yet haven't seen anything.
You need to get the word out that its on, or are you guys trying to diclude me
Really thogh, I plan on trying to attend, I just don't know which car to bring...the 94 should be all set up & making some good #s by then.
Really though put up a sticky somewhere!

As of now I plan on being there...just have to figure out which class to enter. Also I need to round up a trailer and probably a truck to haul the SC there. Not sure if my 4.0 liter Ranger is up to the task but I'll be looking into that. Seeing BlackbirdSC (Steve) snap a halfshaft at the V6 shootout makes me a little wary about driving the Coupe to this event. Good thing he trailerd his. :D

SC UL8R1990 I know, but this post was also listed on the non-tech
side. And this is where I tried to bump it up at,but it showed up here.

Don't make fun of me or I will register my SC for the shootout and spank your
A$$.In my stock SC with one or two bolt-ons. :D I just put some sealer
around my rubber door strip. To cut down on air resistance.Should be
good for a reduction of.500 off my ET. :)

So far with 3 weeks left to go we have almost 40 SC's registered. This is by far the biggest SC racing event EVER! Don't miss it. It will be fun for everyone even if you can't race.
