At the suggestion of one of our new members, the SCCoIA will be participating in this year's Freedom Festival Parade in downtown Cedar Rapids on June 26th.

We will have a display of 4 cars from the area including the cars of the President, Vice President, and two cars owned by the Member at Large and his wife.

Any members and friends of the club that are able to attend, can see our display live and cheer us on. Any who will not be able to attend can see it on TV! The parade will start at 9 am Saturday Morning and travel down 2nd Avenue Southeast and back up 3rd Avenue to Green Square Park. The parade will be shown on KCRG-TV (9) at noon. Our display will be shown for about 20 seconds as it stops in front of the judging stand. At that time they will read a brief press release that explains about our club.

For those not familiar with the Freedom Festival, it is a 11 day event that has something for everyone. There are cultural events, sporting events, tournaments and more. There are outdoor activities of all kinds such as the BBQ Round-up, a water-show on the Cedar River, boat races, the parade, and a large fireworks display off of the Island in downtown CR on the 4th.

I'm thinking a standing 4 car burnout would be pretty cool. :D
