Transmission overfilled problems ?

What exactly bad could happen if the car is driven with too much automatic transmission fluid? I just bought the car 10 days ago and only briefly checked the fluid level to make sure it wasn't dry. There was fluid showing at the hot mark on the dipstick when I checked it, but I didn't notice until I was checking again today that it actually reads about an inch ABOVE  the hot mark. Not sure how long it's been in this condition, but it's been at least 10 days.

Go to the hardware store and buy about 8' of 1/4" clear plastic tubing and siphon out the excess. When you do this, you'll understand why it needs to be clear tubing. :D When you recheck the level, be sure the car is on level ground and the engine is warmed up.

If its been running and shifting OK, not much else you can do at this point.
