Will removing cats screw aything up, smell bad, etc??

I have read now that removing cats will make exhaust stink, is this true?

This has not been my experience in the past...


This will have no adverse affect on the computer etc will it?

From all the stuff I read here, there are no problems with removing cats, but i want to make sure before I screw up...

Other than the law, and maybe a slight raspy increase in exhaust tone, no it won't hurt the car to run without them.
