tach signal loss

Car runs fine, But have been loosing my tach intermitantly for years. Since I had the motor rebuilt a few months back it has really been bugging me. I would really like to get this solved before I head over to the dyno since I'm not sure if the computer is pulling timing because of this.

Has anyone been able to find a cause for this?
Codes that have been pulled are:
212=Loss of Ignition Diagnostic Moniter(IDM) Input to ECA/SPOUT circuit grounded

I replaced the cam position sensor years ago, but that didn't solve the problem. During the rebuild I replaced the crank position sensor and that did help either.

Only one part left and its the part which sends the tach signal to the tach: DIS. Oh... and if you're getting that code.. yes, the EEC is pulling timing in a sense. It goes to a default setting to something like 10 degrees. But this only happens when the fault is present and a stored code doesn't necessarily mean that.
