alright here goes i bought a new supercharger off a friend of mine and we decided to change them because mine has 150,000 miles on it. So we pull the old one and try to bolt the new one on and come to find out its and s type off the 94 95. my question for everyone is spinning wheels sc is selling a ported inlet plenum in his e-bay store and im wondering if that is what i need to swap these superchargers?? :) will that bolt to my 92 sc. any help would be helpful thanx

If you get that plenum it will all bolt together. however, i recommend porting your superchargers inlet opening a little bit. that will help it match the magnumpowers inlet plenum a tad bit better. Otherwise you could try to find a stock 94-95 inlet plenum......which could be a bit tough :D

To put a 94/95 Supercharger on an 89-93 SC, you need the Supercharger and inlet plenum. If the ported inlet plenum is from a 94/95 SC, then you can get that and it will make it so you can use the 94/95 Blower you already have.

Yep :D Had one other thought though...would it be bad to bolt the MP inlet plenum on a stock blower? going from a larger throttle body and inlet plenum into a smaller supercharger inlet? get what im saying?
Oh your going to need a larger throttlebody too, for the MP inlet plenum. ;)

but that plenum should be all i need correct??? and is that plenum any different from the one magnum powers sells?? and back to the first reply is that ok to have the ported inlet plenum and not the ported supercharger?? will i damage anything??

You will not damage anything by running the large plenum onto the smaller supercharger opening. Just suffer a tad bit of performance. Im 90% sure youll need a larger throttlebody for the large plenum.
the plenum that spinningwheels-sc sells is from magnum powers.

I've done the swap 2x now. It is very easy. When you say "S port" you really mean that it has the rectangular opening instead of the oval of the '89-'93. In '94 they changed the opening in the rear to a ractangle getting more air flow in. My suggestion is to buy an inlet plenum for a '94-'95 sc off of the for sale forum or off of ebay. You will save a significant amount of money over the MP unit if you don't have the $500 to fork over for MP one.
If you decide to go with the MP inlet, you will be able to bolt your stock TB up to it. The mounting bolts are not different. The difference is that the MP inlet is already ported to 75mm...the stock TB is only 60mm so you won't see the full potential of the inlet until you upgrade the rest of your intake.
If you get a stock '94-'95 inlet, the only thing you will have to do is block off the egr fitting since the '94-'95's came with the egr. I just put one of these on my '92 this last weekend. Not a difficult job at all.

No problem at all, please let us know how the swap went and any and all input on the gains.

Just some more info on "S" porting.
All 94-95 M90s are not S port models. The S port refers to the porting done by Magnuson Products to those models for flow enhancement. This was mostly smoothing our transitions in a couple areas of the blower. Several vendors now offer M90 porting service that goes way beyond the S porting. At one time, the S port was the hottest porting going for the M90. I'm sure many owners have done their own porting that exceeds what the the S port could flow. We have come a long way in the last few years!
So, if someone is selling you a 94-95 blower, it is not automatically an S port model. Especially if they just took it off their stock SC! LOL I don't know of an easy way to visually inspect a blower to determine if it is an S model or not. At least the 94-95 is distinguishable from the 89-93 by the larger rectangular port vs the early style oval port.

It depends on how much $$ you have to spend. The MPII (early sc with a new rear inlet) unit is better than the MPI unit (late model sc). However, if you don't have the $800 or so for the MP II rebuild (not to mention the inlet plenum...), and a late model sc can be had for say $500, you're saving yourself $300 off the bat. The late model sc's are good for 20 hp give or take, as their design is a bit more effecient than a stock early style. The late model also gives you more "do it yourself" porting ability. This could add up to another 15-20 hp or even more. You can't really port an early style to get those gains without some welding involved or as stated before getting the MP II treatment. The main reason for this is the opening size and the material around the opening where you can open it up more. There just isn't enough on the early style sc's. I've done this with some porting. More information on what I did is available here (http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48650) . In a week I'll be taking it to the track to see what the improvement is. I'll report back in the above linked thread.
