I just got a 93, and it seems alot faster than, mine, or lighter rather???

I read that lower gears make it seem lighter, so either it seems that there are lower gears in it, or the tranny is geared lower???

Or maybe something i just wrong with my 90???

Is there any casting numbers that may tell me more on the tranny casing?

Thanks guys!

4R70W's were not offered until 94 in MN12's. An easy way to tell them apart from an AOD is that the 4R70W (or AODE, for that matter) will have a MLPS sensor located on the driverside of the transmission where the manual shift lever is located.

hmmm

Why does it feel os light then???
Perhaps there are sorter gears in the pumkin then???

i read soewhere tat Lincoln Mark VIIIs got the wide ratio kit in an AODE in 93.... Thats why I was curious...

93-98 Lincoln Mark 8's had 4R70W's, which is basically an AODE with a wide ratio kit (W = wide ratio).

As for it feeling lighter than your 90, it could be:

Running better
Making more power
Lower rear end gear ratio
Sitting on a cloud
or just your imagination.

Well I think I can rule out the imagination factor, as two other folsk have agreed with me...

It just feels lighter...

It is still in the project phase right now, I guess when I get the intermittent shudder figured out (I think its tranny related)and then I will see what RPM she turns in comparison with mine on the highway...

Thanks!
