Sun roof blues

Has anyone had any problems with their sunroof not closing all of the way. The sun roof opens and slides closed but will not pop up and seal when closing. Before I tear out the headliner and figure it out, I figured I would ask for suggestions. There isn't anything blocking it , but my luck its a dead bird in there. Thanks for the help.

Will it close the rest of the way if you manually move it with the switch?

If so, then it's likely just skipped a gear or something and is no longer in sync with the limit switches that make sure it's positioned properly. Search the forums and you should find a procedure to re-sync the unit. You'll need to pull the access cover in the back seat and remove the motor to do this.

Suggestion: don't tear out the headliner :confused: The sunroof is removed from the top. But like Mike said you may not have to remove it anyway.

Man, I would have freaked if I pulled the headliner and couldn't get it fixed. They are such a PIA. And 11 years old it probably would have disintegrated and recieve a good hammer lashing. Thanks again
