i looking for a good way to jack up my bird for working on mufflers gas tank ect with this car being indepdent i cant do it like straight axle jacking at center of axle .what have others done beside jacking up 1 side at the time???? thanks

I usually have someone lift up on the body while I slide my floor jack with a short piece of 2x8 to bridge across the rear diff. so that the weight rests on both sides of the IRS frame.

I used wheel ramps when I did my fuel pump. Had to jack up one side at the time high enough to get ramps under wheels and then drove it down when finished.

BTW, I found that you do not need to completely remove the tank to swap fuel pumps. On my '90, I was able to disconnect the wiring looms from their chassis mounting points and could tilt the tank down enough to have plenty of room.

I used to jack mine up by the diff all the time. As far as I know it will not hurt anything. Never had anything bad happen to mine by doing it that way either.
