Can the entire sunroof and tracks be removed to be cleaned and lubed. My sun roof is pi$$ing me off. It wouldn't close, so I used the resync process I found here. Now the damn thing is like jumping gears and grinding when you hit the button and wont move.

The crazy part is I found an eyeglass case and pencil in between the headliner and sunroof. What do people think when they buy a car brand new or used. I could see maybe using the thin gap as a file cabinet (HaHa) but eyeglasses and pencils....... I even found a roach (not bug) under the shift boot. Its screwed down. How the .........never mind.

I think that the way the sunroof is made and installed it is not removeable in one piece. You'll need to remove the head liner to gain access to it. You can watch it work to find the problems. The motors are basically power window motors and it might be having same problems they do. Mines an ASC and is probably different from the factory type.

I thought I heard that the stock sunroof is removed through the hole in the roof. Removing the headliner wasn't necessary. Though getting the access panel off for the motor is.

I was right. Hmm, seems like a couple answers to me.
