dead car

last night my car died. i went to laser quest and when i can out it would not start. every thing lit up like it had power but there was not spark. like it had no gas or like when a car with a timing belt breaks.
does any one have ay clues as to what it could be.
it did this to me the night before, three times. i was driving along and the engine just stoped, the check engine light came on as well as the check gauges light.
one other thing, my firm ride light started blinking when the car shut off, but when it started again it did not flash.

frim ride light blinking means a shock or ARC is bad, the number of blinks indicates which one is not working correctly. also since the check engine light came on it means that the car threw a code. just have the codes scanned and you will most likely find your problem.

If this helps; my car (when i was driving) would just decide to stall (lights one and everything), turned out it was the crank sensor. Got so bad in a half an hour trip it would stall between 5 -10 times.

If the car was not getting gas it would still crank over, but not catch. I guess if you wanted to see if there was spark you could pull a wire, stick a screw driver up the plug end and crank the engine. This isn't always 100% reliable to test for spark, but gives you an idea.

However, with all this crap I just wrote it is still easier to check for codes, like the other guy said. But my bet's on the crank sensor(only cause I'm a cocky a$$hole).
