Hey i dont have a vacuem line to my map sensor. Is this normall. Someone told me that i dont have to have it. It senses it on its own. i have a 89 xr7. thanx.

On our MAF equipped cars the "MAP" sensor serves the function of reporting the Barometric Pressure (BAP) to the computer so that the air density flowing past the MAF can be included in the equation. Since it's job is to sense air pressure the end that the hose should go on is open to atmosphere. In our application it's referred to as a BAP, or Baro, sensor.

FWIW, the sensor is the same as the MAP that non-MAF Ford cars have, its just got that little cap over the vacuum port to both look like it's finished and help prevent somebody from putting a hose on it.
