The Thunder Valley Raceway redlight king (I can't believe I did it 4 times) rolled in about 2:15 pm edt. We overnighted in Arkansas and departed before the rooster crowed. I dropped Jason off in Dalton and the XB-70 should be on final approach into Ft. Benning. Had a great time and really enjoyed meeting everyone.

Michele & I made it back 1:30 am monday morning. We had a great time meeting everyone. Now we can finaly put faces with names. The 92 didn't break 13's. It did run a 14.089 at 97.74 on steet tires. Our time back here in Colo on street tires at 4000 ft elev. was 14.7 with a best on drag radials of 14.4 so the car would have run 13s if we had drag radials. Looking forward to the next meet already. We learned lots & slept very little. I'll be recooperating for a few days now!

The XB70 touched down at 3:00 PM this afternoon. Great 1,036 mile run home. Heavy on the throttle (90% of the way at 78 - 90 mph speeds) and it delivered 25 MPG. Damn, I love these cars.

Well the Colonel had a blast with everyone there at OKC and I hope most of you left with a grin on your faces and make it home okay.

Now I am going to the Stockade for being AWOL from the family for almost 5 days!! Looks like I will be locked up for the rest of 2001 cause the General at home (wife) is pissed.....

Hopefully I will come out again in 2002.

Be safe you all,

Glenn

My tranny was on it's last trip as many knew, well it got me into downtown Dallas and locked up in two gears on the freeway. I fought the shifter until I was ready to foot it and gave up. I had to tow it to another motel to arrange for a long distance tow and rental car, I couldn't locate a rental truck and trailer, we left Dallas at 11:00 am today and after dropping the car off at the garage we just got in. All are safe but many bucks lighter. I had a great time and have decided that I need to look at my bypass valve for wear. My boost is lower than others with the same set up and if I try really hard I can remember it being higher before. Well be SCing ya.

Like Mike said I got he and Glenn dropped me off in Dalton at 01230 (sorry Ive been hanging around Glenn too much). We woke up at Arkansas at O'dark-thirty as Glenn calls it and made the quick dash home. I think the mileage up there from here was about 860 miles and 12.5 hours. I had a blast and I think it was well worth the trip. I think I need to give a shout out to Mike Puckett, Col. Glenn, Kurt "cool dude" Sunday, Eric Carrascos, Kelly Simons, and the rest of you guys and gals for making this one kickin' meet.

i had a crank sensor go out just out side of tulsa,OK. Luckily for me we had a carvan that left an hour or so behind us, that had some of t he best people in it. I thank everyone there that helped out, but mosy of all I want to take Phil K. for having a replacement crank sensor handy( I owe you one!), XR7 Dave for changing it out on the side of the turnpike( whole process took 45 mins!), and Wade Embree for having that 6 point wrench( without that we would have been done!), and Duffy's knowledge of the systems! Anyways we made it home @ 11:00pm Sunday.
i want to say thanks to all the sponsors and hope you come back next year. Thanks to everyone that showed up and hade a good time, can't forget to thank enviro35th for fixing my A/C, and thanks to Glenn and Kurt for all they did!
Next year will be bigger and badder then this one garunteed. and I will win the burnout next year!
The website will be taking changes in the near future so keep an eye on it, also a pre-registration will be up soon once we decide the details for the next one. Hope everyone else had as good time as I did, and for those that have not made it home yet, hope you do soon.

I finally touched home after a 24 hour ride! [yawn].
Rob,
I'm so glad I was able to help out with the crank sensor in some way, but this was a COMPLETE GROUP EFFORT! It's funny how each of us had something in our bag of tricks to get you going again. AMAZING!
Never underestimate the power of a group of intelligent people with a common goal, huh?
Perhaps your dogs appreciated our efforts the most. They were getting stressed out.

Made it back to Dallas just fine. Of course, it was just a hop away. Thanks to all the hard working folks who put it all together for us. Especially Jason Marsh. We had a great time.

Boostman, I think that 45 minute crank sensor job should qualify as a record. You certainly lucked out, especially with the 5.5mm wrench. Amazing how that tiny little thing can stop you cold.

I look forward to the next meet. It was fun meeting you all.

was 30 miles out of Springfield and it was raining hard. Went through a puddle on a bridge that had a dip in it and a lot of water and the car started loosing power....At first I thought water got in the intake but once I stopped and opened the hood and smelled gas...Turns out somehow the water ripped my fuel filter out from under the car...Couldn't believe it....Had to walk 1/4 mile through the rain to find it....finally smelled some gas on the road and started looking around. This was at sundown so I needed to find it fast. Well the rain finally stopped and I looked on the other side of the road and saw a shiny object. At first I thought it was a pop can but as I got closer it turned out to be my fuel filter.......flat as a pancake!!!! I said a few choice words and then blew through it and gas came out so I put my finger on the end and I couldn't blow through it so what the hell.....I put it back together and drove 200 more miles to my destination. Got to my parents place about 11:00 Sunday night. What a trip!!!!! I will post a picture of the filter later. Unbelievable!!!!
Had a great time at the meet, couldn't have met a better bunch of misfits!!!! LOL. Can't wait till the next meet!!!! When we have a Phoenix Meet it will be the Autocross. Check it out on Autocross.com!!!

I flew back into Cincinnati around 10:30 p.m. Sunday evening. The four hour flight was brutal and I think I may have even gotten a slight leg cramp in the tight seating quarters, but one of the nice blond stewardesses massaged it away for me.

Seriously, I have a HUGE respect for those individuals who drove 1000+ miles to the event. I have to say that I did enjoy the short hop home though. I did miss out on the pleasure of having my SC with me for the weekend.

It's always great meeting new enthusiasts!
Thanks to Kurt and Glenn (and others) who organized this awesome event.

Had to leave OKC early sun. so didn't have a chance to thank Kurt, Glenn, Jason, and all organizers of the event. My son Larry and I had a great time and learned more about the SC. My getting home late was not the fault of the SC, which ran like a trooper all the way, but rather from roaming Colo a little on the way home. Best wishes to all.
