For thoes that dont know, i have a LX with the 4.6 that is known for cracking behind the alt. well, somewhere on the way from chicago to OKC mine decided to crack. (This is the 2nd time its happened to me, first time it cracked was in fall of 99) I talked to the dealer out there in okc and they said they could do it but it wouldnt be ready until sometime on tuesday, (that aint no good i had to be back here in chicago on tuesday) well after consulting with some people we decided to JBWeld the crack and drive it home. The jbweld seemed to hold up decent it did start leaking after awile, just kept adding water at each stop. It did use alot of water, but the waterneck was leaking at the seal cause i just replaced the tstat like 2-2.5 weeks ago. Well on tuesday morning i took it to the dealer, they had the part, they replaced it that afternoon, picked it up that evening. No charge to me cause of the recall, thank god, it kinda ran rough for a min or two, then it smoothed out. ok fine, drove it, got it hot checked it out to see if i could see if there were any problems, didnt find any. This morning drove it to work, same thing, ran rough at first, then smoothed out, ok this might be a problem, then after work today, started it up, ran really rough, worse than the morning or evening before, drove it about a mile or so, this time it didnt smoth out, so i headed strat to the dealer, on the way, check engine light comes on, then starts flashing, now im thinking Oh Great, now its not even going to make it to the dealer, well end up getting it to the dealer, service dept. closed at 5 i got there at 5:15, grrrr, so i leave it, ill find out tomorrow morning what there going to do with it.

only good thing that has happened is that i got my J-Chip sent to me today, but it isnt all that great cause i dont have a car to put it in. (and i need a lmaf adaptor so its not like i was going to put it in today)

well other than that i did have a good time at okc, and thanks to Jason for borrowing me some JBWeld, and thanks to Glenn for helping me with it.

Vic,
Was that you traveling back with us from OKC with the cracked manifold? God, I'm sorry I didn't get your name because I wanted to meet you. I probably even shook your hand as Duffy and I were leaving. I appologize for not formally introducing myself and it's pretty unthoughtful of me.
I think there were just so many things happening on the way (with the crank sensor) that we didn't take the time to talk.

Mr Phil,
Yea i was there, SweetSC and I were the other 2 that left early with rob. Your not the only one that i didnt get a chance to hang out with over the weekend, being that i got there late friday night, and left early sunday, i kinda missed a little of the chat time. oh well. we did get to say hi on the side of the road, you might not remeber me i was wandering around, had a grey tshirt on with a pic of a red 2002 tbird and a whitesox hat on.

ok update

got the car back tonight, 86 dollars lighter they said that the #6 plug was bad, they said it was cracked. they ran the codes and found out that there was a problem in #6 they checked the wire, then the plug, they replaced it and it runs fine. they charged me 8 for the plug and the rest for the diagnosis and the labor. but my question is, the cracking of the plug is that caused by the cracked intake causing coolent to rapid cool the plug so fast that it cracked or did it crack just by coinsadence and it just start giving me problems now? the guy said that "the plug looks like it was cracked for awhile" but im not sure if he is just feeding me a line so that they dont have to pay for it. What are my options to get my money back if i can get it back.
