Find all the part numbers you need and order it from Summit Racing. They have evrything you'll need and ship internationally for an extra $23.95 handling charge. If you haven't been there yet then the link is:

I rebult mine over the last week and a half, seems to be working good.

Get a Ford Service manual for your Bird. Or the Hayes AOD rebuild book.

I lost my AOD manual, but the ford service manual has all of the info in there... The pictures could be better, but I took plenty of pictures of dissassembly, and that help to be more confident how it goes back together. Next time I will take more....

I used this manual on the first tranny AOD I rebuilt a few years ago... (in my lincoln towncar)

There is also this one on ebay...

All I needed were snap-ring pliers, also the "forward drum" is a beotch to get the spring out and back in... but it can be done with some "c clamps"

These things would really help, but I used some "transparency film" like for an overhead projector, and it worked OK. If I do another one, I will get the inner and outter lip seal protectors at least for the forward drum. You will understand when you read the books...
