Hey, I was just wondering who wanted to caravan to OKC. So this is an open forum for people to get some plans together for caravans to OKC. I know a lot of guys are planning to meet up in St. Louis. Any Iowa people want to meet up in Lincoln with some Nebraska guys, and go from there?

How long will it take to get from STL to OKC? Name a time to be in STL and I'll be there. I'll pry take 35 south instead of going to Lincoln. Let me know fellas and fellettes - Dave

It's 512 miles from STL to OKC that's at least 7 hours with stops and making good time. Therefore, since everyone is arriving between noon and 5pm we would probably want to leave by 8am--arrive between 2 and 3. Also, we will be meeting at least one person along the way near Springfield, MO which will add a little bit of time.

Thomas A: There is a guy in KC that is planning on meeting us near Springfield, MO. You could meet up with him and head down.

I'm selfish, so I say lets meet at my house :) . Actually I don't care where, but since people would probably be arriving at different times at least we could have a place to rest before the drive. A resturant might be good also (there are a couple by the Hooter's we met at). Or we could meet in Fenton (just west of I-270 on I-44). Traffic sucks between 6:20am until around 8am, which is why I picked 8am.

I'm busy with work right now, but I should catch a break as we get closer to finalize some details. Let me know what you guys think.

Okay...how do I get from point A to point B...say from I-35?

Of course you know this means I'll have to get up early in the a.m. and I would expect streamers/large banners/and some sort of college band playing(with hot chicks in it) to welcome my arrival - Dave

:p

Kurt, no offense, unless your house is right near the highway, that might not be the bestest of ideas, only reason i say that is your going to have alot of out of towners and none of us know where were going. if we can keep it to a few turns off the xway that would be better than trying to navigate neighborhood streets. just my .02 BUT if your house is near the xway im up for meeting at your house. thats not a prob.

keep us informed.
thanks
Keith

I would meet up in Springfield, but that's about 150 miles out of the way. I guess I'll try to get something started with people from WYOMING, NORTHERN COLORADO, SOUTH DAKOTA, NEBRASKA, KANSAS and NORTHER IOWA. I figure we can meet in Lincoln or Grand Island along I-80, cuz from Grand Island, OKC is directly south, and then we can pick up guys along the way from KANSAS and SOUTHERN COLORADO. I don't think it would be out of the way for anyone in those areas. Take a look at a map and my confusing rambling will make a lot more sense. So, if you from any of those places, lets talk about getting hooked up. Hey DD IOWA, where are you from?

Keith: I wasn't really serious about my house, but it is only about 3 miles off the highway and you only have to make 4 turns to turn into my driveway (only 3 if you park in the street :) ). I did think about another place--McDonald's @ the intersection of I-44 and hwy 141, a few miles west of I-270. No matter what, we definitely have to consider rush hour.

Thomas A: I'm just not familiar with the highways west of Lincoln. I just remember the numerous trips I've made to Lincoln to visit a friend. (side bar: best trip from STL to Lincoln, I average 84.6mph, including a 20 min stop in KC on Labor Day weekend). It seems like it would definitely better for you to meet up along another route.

I was just wondering if you were planning on going with the guys from St. Louis? I believe they are picking up another guy in Springfield. If not, your more than welcome to head west on I-80 and join up with us in Lincoln. Let me know.
